Elden Ring is full of secrets that beg players to explore. There are over 300 unique weapons to slay fearsome bosses. Most of them can be obtained by killing bosses and exploring Lands in Between, but weapons are notoriously difficult to obtain in FromSoftware games. The developers have made it harder to get weapons by hiding them behind illusory walls and even reducing their drop rate to 0.5% per kill.
After the announcement of Elden Ring DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree, new and old players alike are looking for reasons to jump back into the game. Changing your primary weapon in your build is a great way to spice up your gameplay experience, not only by giving you the pleasure of quick decisive battles, but also by letting you take on higher level bosses that drop tons of Elden Ring Runes.
With Shadow of the Erdtree’s June 2 update approaching, players will be returning to Lands Between to complete their original base game collections and find some of the rarer weapons Elden Ring has to offer. While the developers don’t specify where each rare weapon drops or what their chances are, you’ll learn about them in this guide.
Rotten Crystal Spear And Rotten Crystal Staff
- Drop Chance: 8%
- Weapon Classes: Spear, Glintstone Staff
- Required Attributes: (STR – 10, DEX – 16, INT – 16), (STR – 8, INT – 48)
- Weight: 5.5, 4.5
As one of the few weapons that can provide both Scarlet Rot status effect and magic damage, Rotten Crystal Spear and Rotten Crystal Staff are a splendid choice for mages looking to increase Dexterity. While there are many better alternatives to the Rotten Crystal Spear in the spear class, the addition of Rotten Crystal Staff as one of the higher-level amphibious staffs in the game gives it an additional 10% crystal spell enhancement.
Unfortunately, Scarlet Rot status effect of Rotten Crystal Staff cannot be used unless the player is using the staff to deal with physical damage. But in normal gameplay, it is difficult to deal with physical damage.
- Location
To obtain these two weapons, you need to defeat various lesser crystal creatures located in Elphael.
Haligtree Crest Greatshield
- Drop Chance: 4%
- Weapon Classes: Greatshield
- Required Attributes: STR – 36
- Weight: 18.5
While Haligtree Crest Greatshield has a drop rate of 4% when you reach level 100, it is not that rare compared to other weapons, but why is it still listed as one of the most difficult Elden Ring Items?
Players who have obtained and enhanced Haligtree Crest Greatshield before will know that because of its high Holy Damage cancellation effect, the ultimate boss Radagon can easily defeat it. This means that its defensive effect is not very good, and you may need other shields.
- Location
If you want to obtain Haligtree Crest Greatshield, you need to reach the vicinity of Haligtree Roots Site of Grace and defeat a single enemy to obtain this item. Each individual enemy has a 4% chance of dropping this shield.

Envoy’s Greathorn
- Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Colossal Weapon
- Required Attributes: STR – 28, DEX -12, FAI – 24
- Weight: 19.5
Envoy Horn is dropped by Oracle Envoy Giants. This giant weapon has a unique ash of war called Great Oracle Bubble, which makes up for its poor attack stats. A more accessible alternative is Herald’s Horns, which are lighter and have a higher DPS output than Herald’s Greathorns.
Envoy’s Greathorn’s abilities can take out some tanky enemies with relatively small hitboxes. In addition, wearing Envoy Crown while playing as Envoys will also increase the base damage.
- Location
To get Envoy’s Greathorn, you need to breed some Envoy enemies in Leyndell and Haligtree, especially those who use a specific version of the weapon. There are three different versions of Envoy enemies, and if you’re unsure of your target, use Telescope.
Monk’s Flameblade
- Drop Chance: 4%
- Weapon Classes: Curved Greatsword
- Required Stats: STR – 18, DEX – 18
- Weight: 9
Since the release of patch 1.09, players have been experimenting with Curved Greatswords as the developers buffed their range, speed, and other properties. So for those who want to add a little of art to their Curved Greatswords, Monk’s Flameblade is the way to go.
It can add a bit of Ash of War, and can add more possibilities to your own play style. This also makes it one of the best-looking and most widely used weapons by players.
- Location
To get Monk’s Flameblade, you must plant a Fire Monk in Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave Site Of Grace.
Ripple Crescent Halberd
- Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Halberd
- Required Attributes: STR – 12, DEX – 12, ARC – 20
- Weight: 8.5
This weapon is a great addition for players who like to augment their Arcane by being able to apply any status effect to an enemy. As one of the few Elden Ring Items with Arcane S-level scaling and no default status effects, Rippled Crescent Halberd can be enhanced through the use of a few consumables.
This weapon has a notorious reputation among players for its ability to apply the sleep effect to enemies using Saporific Grease repeatedly. However, it should be noted that it can also be used with Blood or Poison greases.
- Location
To get Ripple Crescent Halberd, you need to farm Albinauric enemies that use it, such as the enemies in Academy Gate Town area or Palace Ledge-Approach area of Mohgwyn Palace.
Guardian’s Swordspear
- Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Halberd
- Required Attributes: STR – 17, DEX – 16
- Weight: 9
It’s worth getting this extremely rare Halberd, because if you invest enough points in Dexterity, it’s the best Halberd in Elden Ring. Not only is it much faster than other weapons of its kind, but it’s also better than many weapons in terms of pure attack when paired with keen affinity.
If you mix Dexterity and Faith, it’s easier to apply status effects to enemies with weaker resistance.
- Location
To get Guardian’s Swordspear, you need to defeat six Guardians near Minor Erdtree Church in Altus Plateau. Each Guardian has a chance to drop this amazing weapon.
Magma Blade
- Drop Chance: 1%
- Weapon Classes: Curved Sword
- Required Attributes: STR – 9, DEX – 15, FAI – 16
- Weight: 4
The Magma Blade is a favorite among Elden Ring players for its gleaming appearance, as it bears an undeniable resemblance to Kratos’ Blades of Chaos from God of War. However, its extremely low drop rate has greatly hindered players from obtaining both weapons to play as Kratos.
Its unique Ash of War emanation also spreads a large amount of lava around the player, but you can only perform three slashes at most. Patch 1.09 also introduced several buffs to the weapon, including increased run attack speed and reduced recovery time.
- Location
To obtain the Magma Blade, you’ll need to kill the snake-like enemies in Volcano Manor, especially those that are clearly wielding the weapon, as they have a relatively high drop rate.
Cleanrot Spear And Halo Scythe
- Drop Chance: 1% / 2%
- Weapon Classes: Spear, Reaper
- Attribute requirements: (Strength -16, Dexterity -16, Spells -14), (Strength -13, Dexterity -16, Spells -15)
- Weight: 5.5, 8.5
Cleanrot Spear and Halo Scythe have always been the two most popular Faith-scaling weapons in Elden Ring. Relatively speaking, Halo Scythe is more popular in the community because of its Ash of War, Miquella’s Ring of Light, which can improve the Sacred Ring of Light by greatly increasing the effective range.
But this does not mean that Cleanrot Spear is not good, it also has Ash of War to summon some spears, and can cause huge Holy Damage to enemies caught in the effect area.
- Location
Before you can get the Cleanrot Spear and Halo Scythe, you must collect some Lesser Cleanrot Knights that roam the Swamp of Aeonia area in Caelid. These enemies can be found in Shaded Castle and Caelid, but after some practice, the drop rate in Caelid is higher.
Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Sickle, And Celebrant’s Rib-Rake
- Drop Chance: 0.5%
- Weapon Classes: Axe, Dagger, Spear.
- Required Attributes: (STR – 12, DEX – 8), (STR – 6, DEX – 11), (STR – 8, DEX – 14)
- Weight: 4.5, 1.5, 5
These three scary-sounding tools are made of human skulls and can only be found in one of the Dominula in the Windmill village in the north of the Altus Plateau. These three tools have unique abilities, granting 10 Elden Ring Runes per successful hit, and can be enhanced with magic or consumables.
The drop rate for these weapons is only 0.5%, which is really low! However, it is a good idea to increase the chance of finding them by using the Silver Pickled Fowl Foot.
- Location
To get the three weapons, you need to farm some sinister Celebrants who dance around the Windmill Village and surrounding villages. Be aware that they usually come in groups, so be careful of their attacks.
Noble’s Estoc And Noble’s Slender Sword
- Drop Chance: 0.5%
- Weapon Classes: Thrusting Sword, Straight Sword
- Required Attributes: (STR – 9, DEX – 10), (STR – 8, DEX – 11)
- Weight: 3.5, 3.5
Players are used to FromSoftware’s usual unpredictable quests, and Noble’s Estoc and Noble’s Slender Sword are the best proof of this. Perhaps to the developers’ disappointment, these weapons have a very low chance of being found, which is not of interest to the average player.
On the other hand, weapon collectors who want to obtain this pair of weapons need to complete challenges. Although these weapons are hidden in the Wandering Nobles, the most easily obtainable monsters in the game, the drop rate is too low, which requires a lot of time and effort.
- Location
To obtain these two weapons, players should collect the weak Noble enemies that often wander the roadsides of Sites of Grace, especially on Sites of Grace in Limgrave. There is an excellent farm located in Sites of Grace in Mistwood Outskirts. Find three Wandering Nobles and remember to collect them. They will respawn every time you return to this place.
After introducing these rare weapons, have you aroused your interest in exploration? Then quickly enter the game and experience the updated Elden Ring DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree! I hope this guide can help every player get the rarest weapons in their minds!
