One of the ten most popular fitness fads on Google in 2019 was Body Groove. Does it deliver a valuable workout and live up to the hype? The Get-Fit Guy makes his decision.
Full-spectrum movement is not provided by workouts that employ and repeat the same movement patterns using the same body components.
The sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes are all used in full-spectrum movement.
You may use Body Groove in the comfort of your own home to move your body on all three planes in 5-minute bursts.
Body Groove is a great workout when combined with strength training, HIIT, and some flexibility training.
Exercise should not account for more than 20% of your weight loss program; nutrition is the most crucial component.
A long time ago, a listener named Victoria sent me an email asking my opinion of the online training program Body Groove. I leaped at the chance because I hadn’t looked over a gym or exercise program in a long time.
I believe we should discuss the definition of a full-body or full-spectrum workout and the reasons it is crucial for everyone before I begin my review.
Full-spectrum motion
Katy Bowman, a biomechanist, writes in her book Move Your DNA:
I suggest that movement is essential, just like food, and that any illnesses you may be suffering from are just (and intricately) signs of movement hunger brought on by a movement diet that is dangerously low in quantity and low in quality, meaning you aren’t receiving the entire range of movement nutrition required for basic human functioning.
By that, what does she mean? I interpret this to suggest that even those of us who exercise regularly may be experiencing two forms of inactivity.
We allocate 30 to 90 minutes to exercise Move and Groove, while the remainder of the day is spent inactive.
The same body parts are used and the same movement patterns are repeated during exercise. And this is what I’m worried about today, my fit pals.
To paraphrase Katy, she states something like, “You know broccoli is a healthy food!” on episode 21 of her podcast. Broccoli has health benefits. However, you would be really sick if you solely ate broccoli. It makes sense, doesn’t it? Even while broccoli is an extremely healthy meal, if you just ever ate it, you would be missing out on several very important nutrients.
Are you familiar with the adage “move it or lose it?” You will soon lose the ability to move your body in all directions if you don’t.
Katy then uses movement to illustrate that idea. Similar to how broccoli lacks certain elements necessary for life, we would not be able to maintain our strength and mobility as humans if we relied just on a daily run, for instance, to supply us with all the movement nutrients we need.
How is Body Groove operated?
The Body Groove videos can be accessed in a number different ways. You have the option of buying DVDs or signing up for a monthly or annual streaming subscription. I completed the exercises using the online version since my last DVD player vanished when my 2010 MacBook Pro eventually purchased the (server) farm. Some Body Groove videos are available for free on YouTube. That’s a terrific alternative if you want to try it.
You can watch all of the workout videos and workshops with Body Groove On-Demand on your computer, tablet, smartphone, AppleTV, Roku, Amazon FireTV, and the majority of smart TVs. Having 150 videos to pick from is really awesome.
Additionally, there are various classifications. Groove, dance, Latin, yoga, house parties, HIIT, and films tailored to elderly citizens are available. Therefore, you won’t get bored or even have to watch the same film twice for a long time.
The Body Groove verdict
I believe I have expressed my admiration for Body Groove in Warwick. This enjoyable, carefree, full-spectrum movement style is a benefit for any training program, whether or not you buy Body Groove. I picture myself retaining Body Groove as a fitness tool in my ever expanding movement toolbox, used in conjunction with an otherwise active day.
